AWARDS
The Basketball Academy’s partners and sponsors
have traditionally awarded approximately $8,000 in scholarships
to deserving students annually. The awards are offered in the following
categories:
- Individual outstanding player awards for a player from each
team.
- Basketball Academy Partner Scholarships
– A designated monetary amount is provided to each of
the three academy partners (100 Black Men of Maryland, Baltimore
City Public Schools System and B.M.A.C. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority,
Inc.) at the end of the event. Each partner can award the scholarship
to a designated recipient based on their organizations specific
criteria.
- Scholar Athlete Award – $200 savings
bond is awarded to 1 individual from each participating team
(total of 20 awards). The Head Coach of each high school nominates
the recipient.
Over the past fourteen years, the Basketball Academy
has awarded over $80,000 to select students.
SPECIAL RECOGNITION
The Basketball Academy has also recognized those who
have impacted the Academy as well as basketball in general. Honorees
