| WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL
WEBSITE FOR THE BASKETBALL ACADEMY
Based in Baltimore, Maryland the Basketball Academy presented by
State Farm falls under the direction of Baltimore City Public Schools.
This year, we are proud to celebrate our 16th year of providing
academics, athletics, cultural enrichment, and service learning
to area student-athletes.
The 100 Black Men of Maryland, Inc. and the Baltimore Metropolitan
Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. support the
Academy by providing volunteers and chaperones.
The Basketball Academy, Inc., is a 501C3 dedicated to enriching
the lives of young people and increasing the opportunities of inner-city
youth in and around the Baltimore Metropolitan area. Through the
Academy, we aim to expand the opportunities of young people by providing
academic programs that stimulate the mind and athletic programs
that showcase and enhance the skill. It is our widespread goal to
encourage young people through sports, education, mentoring, developmental
programs, and by example. To date, more than 8,000 students have
participated in the Academy, and over $86,000 worth of scholarships
have been distributed to worthy young people in our area.
